Hola from the Frog Pond! We’re leaping with excitement about the second video in our Making the Magic Affordable at Walt Disney World series! This one provides a Disney World Resorts overview, breaking down the different resort hotel categories. We’re also sharing the best ways to save money on lodging and offering Frog Family tips on keeping the magic affordable!

1: First, we’re starting our Disney World Resorts overview with the Disney Value Resort hotels, including Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Pop Century Resort. This category of hotel is best for families who plan to spend all day at the parks and only need quick service meals, snacks and a fun pool (0:45). These value resorts are the best-priced Disney Resort hotels, and are a great way to save some money. Some of these resorts also offer suites that can sleep up to six adults and have kitchens, so it’s easy to prepare meals without going out to eat, which can save you some extra green (1:10)!

Keep in mind: Sometimes two standard rooms are cheaper than a suite (1:20), so make sure you do the math to find the best price for your family.

2. Next, let’s talk about Disney’s Moderate Resort hotels, such as Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans - French Quarter and Riverside Resorts and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. These resorts are best for families who want a mid-priced hotel with more amenities (1:39).

Although these resorts don’t offer suites, some rooms have sleeper beds and can accommodate up to five people (1:58).

Frog Family Tip: Take the (free) boat over to Disney Springs for shopping, dining and more fun (2:06)!

3. Next on our Disney World Resorts overview are Disney’s Deluxe Resort hotels, such as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. These resorts are best for families who wish to spend more time at the hotel and want more resort-style amenities (2:18). The deluxe resorts offer more dining options, including fine dining and character dining, more shopping and other activities. Many of the deluxe standard rooms sleep five adults, and some even offer multiple suite options that fit up to 12 people (2:32)!

Frog Family Tip: If the deluxe resorts aren’t in your budget, opt for one of the moderate hotels (2:42) for similar amenities at a more affordable price point.

Keep in mind: You can always book character dining or dining reservations at a deluxe hotel, even if you are staying at a different hotel (2:49).

4. Finally, we’ll discuss a ~toadally~ different option: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Here, you can bring a tent or RV and camp, or rent a cabin that sleeps up to 6 adults (3:05)! Booking at Fort Wilderness is the best way to save on lodging.
