The Wonderful World of Animation nighttime show is officially open to the public tonight at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we want to give you a froggy first look at this brand-new experience. The projection show — which was created in honor of the park’s 30th anniversary celebration — takes you through more than 90 years of Disney and Pixar animation magic. Directed by Tony Giordano and narrated by Cory Burton, this is the fourth magical Walt Disney World nighttime spectacular offered to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, along with Disney Movie Magic, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular and the seasonal Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM … all of which will be linked below!
Beginning with iconic scenes from “Mickey’s Gala Premiere” short (0:36), the 12-minute long Wonderful World of Animation show is a film-themed tribute of new, classic and rare Disney and Pixar films. The show covers six themes found in each film: magic, family, adventure, romance, villains and of course, friendship. Watch as dazzling lights make up scenes from beloved films such as “Aladdin” (1:50), “Coco” (2:27), “Hercules” (6:46) and even the not-yet-released “Toy Story 4” (10:40). To close the show, we are reminded that “it was all started by a mouse,” as images from “Steamboat Willie” (11:44) flash on the walls, followed by dazzling fireworks (12:18). It truly is a magical experience you don’t want to miss!
