Disney's Animal Kingdom turned 15 years old today. This morning before the park opened there was a special opening ceremony featuring Josh D'Amaro, the Vice President of Disney's Animal Kingdom and Dr. Jackie Ogden the Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment along with Mickey and friends.

The line you see after the opening celebration at Creature Comforts is to buy special limited edition merchandise for the 15th anniversary. The line exceeded an hour at one point today.

Disney's Animal Kingdom opened on April 22nd, 1998 (Earth Day).
