Ready for an expedition? ~Hop~ along as we share 9 fun facts that everyone should know about Kali River Rapids, located inside Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort!
Kali River Rapids was inspired by the Imagineers’ trip down the Chakranadi River in India (1:02). The ride’s story focuses on the dangers of deforestation and its destructive effects (0:30). If you listen closely while in the queue, you can hear the sounds of loggers cutting down trees and a warning against illegal logging (0:34). Look for the signatures of the Disney Imagineers that worked on this ride in the Expeditions Room while you wait to board your raft (0:52). Each raft has its own name, such as the Himalayan Hummer or the Sherpa Surfer (0:59). Kali River Rapids uses approximately 150,000 gallons of water, ensuring that you will get soaked (1:08). There are lockers available outside of the attraction for anything you’d like safely stashed while you ride (0:48).
Leap’s ~Hopful~ Tips:
~ Riders must be at least 38 inches tall to ride this attraction (0:39). If you have tadpoles too small to ride, you may look into Rider Switch.
~ Bring an extra change of clothes or wear ponchos and sandals if you want to stay dry (0:41). This is the perfect ride to cool you down on a hot day!
~ Use a gallon-sized plastic bag to keep valuables dry on the raft (0:47).
